Benares Ghats Canvas Print

Rs.4,000.00

Availability: In stock

For thousands of years, people have been thronging the Ghats of the Ganges in Benares to offer their prayers to the rising sun. It is believed that a dip in the Ganges is a cathartic experience for the mind, body and soul. The migratory birds from Central Asia, which visit the Ganges every winter, seem to have known this since ages. The local boat-riders at the river have taught these birds a few Hindi words and they typically respond to cries of "aao aao," if said with a sharp nasal twang and accompanied by some bird feed - so tells us Kartikay Rai, the photographer of this beautiful panoramic shot.
