AIQON is a one-man unit that operates out of Dadar, Mumbai. Chinmay Shah designs all of AIQON’s watches, and then outsources the actual production of the timepiece. Chinmay started off over a year ago, stepping out of his financial background to let out the creativity in him. After his Bachelors in Engineering, Masters in Economics & Finance and working with Videocon for three years, he thought it was finally time to bring out the art that had always been a part of him. And watches, he thought, were the best direction in which he could let his creativity flow. He wanted his watches to reflect historical culture. Thus, this gave birth to AIQON, an affordable luxury watch brand.
AIQON is different because it’s the first of its kind to create collections of watches that concentrate entirely on a particular theme. It focuses on and caters to a very niche audience. Chinmay thought it was extremely important to understand an individual to get the watch right, and that walking into a shop and buying a watch made the whole concept of individuality redundant. He wanted a person’s watch to add to who he really was, and that’s what he based AIQON on.
