Picklish is based out of Bangalore. It was founded by the brother-sister team of Sindhuja P and Prasanna Venkatesh
To help you get to know our Makers better, as part of our long running Meet the Maker series of conversations, we chatted with Sindhuja. It made for interesting reading. We invite you to the conversation.
What were you doing before you started doing this?
Studying. I co-founded Picklish while I was completing my graduation.
Why did you choose to do what you do?
I am an art enthusiast. Picklish began as a passion project. It has turned into so much more – all thanks to the fabulous response from our customers. The aim is to now remain loyal to our consumer base and maintain the quality of our products.
We are fascinated by names. What’s the story behind your brand name?
The name Picklish is a direct pun on ticklish – prone to being tickled. We chose this name because it aptly summarizes the tendencies of shoppers: to keep picking products one after the other.
Which are your best selling products?
We are grateful for the overwhelming response to our brand in general. The thread earrings and bangles in particular are a hit with a majority of our consumers.
What kind of people do you create your products for?
Picklish caters to tasteful, eclectic consumers across the age spectrum. We strive to provide quality over quantity to such patrons.
What are the challenges you face in connection with achieving your goals?
I would say marketing is the biggest challenge we grapple with, since we aren’t able to reach a wider audience. We need to expand to get the word out even better.
Where do you see your brand three years from now?
We at Picklish are currently dedicated to serving the latest fashion needs of our consumers. The long-term goal is to create a chic, trendy, and pocket-friendly
brand which resonates with aware consumers across the world.
What would you be doing if you weren’t doing this?
We are extremely humbled by the dedicated support of our fan-base. We aspire to keep developing the brand with newer lines of products.
