Meet Rashi Mehra, founder of Alanna Naturally Beautiful, a 100% natural skincare and haircare brand that is affordable and, yet, makes no compromises when it comes to the quality of its offering.
‘Alanna’ means Innocent Child in Irish and Beauty in Gaelic. Both define what this brand stands for. The purity of Alanna’s products have a childlike innocence about them and are handcrafted to help bring out your inner beauty…naturally. .
When we asked the founder of Alanna Naturally Beautiful – the young, talented, articulate, and beautiful Rashi Bahel – to describe her creation – she said, “Alanna is a 100% Natural Skincare and Haircare brand that is affordable and, yet, makes no compromises when it comes to the quality of its offering”. And on that positive note, let’s get to know Rashi and Alanna a little better.
Why did you choose to do what you do?
In 2015, we began our journey with a view to create and share Organic, perfectly balanced, and carefully designed formulations that rejuvenate the skin, restore youth, and delight the senses. Our aim was not just to provide our patrons with the best quality of products that bring tangible and visible results, but also give them something that’s worth a lot more than what it costs. In a nutshell, this is Alanna’ s mission.
What were you doing before you started doing this?
I have 8 years of experience in marketing. During my years as a marketing professional, I have handled branding and marketing communications for Tata Communications, Lenovo, and Samsung.
Which are your best selling products?
Our Activated Charcoal Soap with Green Tea, Age No Bar Scrub, Deep Cleanser (Black Mask) and the Golden Glow face pack are our bestsellers.
What kind of people do you create your products for?
We make our products for people who want to make a genuine effort to replace and reduce the surfeit chemical/commercial products by adopting and supporting the use of natural and safe products in their day-to-day life. Our products provide great results to help you go back to the skin you were born with.
What are the challenges you face in connection with achieving your goals?
Today there is a strong perception among the buyers that if a product is natural then it must be considerably more expensive. This is a perception that we would like to change. In addition, there are a few brands that call themselves natural but are in fact not. This hurts brands like Alanna that most genuinely are. All of this creates a lot of resistance and distrust among the buyers and comes in the way of more people experiencing our products for the first time. However, once the customers come on board, they stay with us. Proof of this lies in the fact that our repeat purchase percentage is a gratifyingly high 95%. Naturally, we’re working hard to make it 100%!
Where do you see your brand three years from now?
We are on the right path and are hopeful that with our dedicated passion and drive we will be in a position to have our own stores in different parts of India and also around the globe.
