How many (if more than one) members make up your team?

Crio was founded by my sibling, Yayati Patel and I, Vishwa Patel. Yayati and I are 23 and 26 years old respectively.

What were you doing before you started doing this?

I am an Architect and design enthusiast. Yayati is an Engineer and creator.

Why did you choose to do what you do?

We love concrete. We love how versatile the material is and its endless possibilities. We were intrigued by its raw beauty. We wanted to create products made from concrete that are not available in the Indian market.

We are fascinated by names. What’s the story behind your brand name?

Crio means “I CREATE”, in Portuguese and that’s how it became our brand name. Our brand is all about creating. Our passion is for creating concepts and things.

Which are your best selling products?

Our best sellers are the desk accessories for office use.

What kind of people do you create your products for?

Our products are loved by architects, designers, and people who like quirky and unique stuff. Our products are perfect for people who are looking for Aesthetic and Functional Decor for spaces.

What are the challenges you face in connection with achieving your goals?

We want to explore more of the material. We keep trying new stuff. This can be challenging. Since our products are unique and one of a kind, we do not mass produce or manufacture with machines. This can be limiting. Still, we wish to expand and reach as many people as we can and add beauty to their spaces.

Where do you see your brand three years from now?

We are designers and creators. We provide a unique experience through our products. This is our goal. To meet this goal, we wish to add to our product range. We also looking at working on building house elements like basins, furniture, and other interior decor ideas using concrete and other materials.

What would you be doing if you weren’t doing this?

I would be an Architect working on projects which only have conventional use of concrete as a building material. I am glad I am here. Because, here, I am working with concrete in more creative ways and connecting at a deeper level with customers who admire the level of personalization Crio offers.

If Yayati weren’t doing this, he’d be an engineer handling manufacturing or construction, which still remains a strong element of his work profile.
