About the Maker

Parul Bajoria, founder and proprietor. I am a qualified Fashion Designer and also recipient of FOSMI Outstanding Women Entrepreneur award from hands of late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalaam. I have also been one of the top 40 contestants of Entrepreneur Reality show Egiye Bangla organized by Govt. of West Bengal.

How it all started:
I always wanted to spend my time in a noble work but while still doing what I loved. Miharu was exactly the thing I was hunting for. I loved working with artisans and designing products, but soon realized business is not only about designing. I had to find the right market, then make products targeting it. Sometimes I faced troubles dealing with artisans and other times I couldn’t complete orders in time. Kept trying to work with artisans and gradually doors opened and met people who helped me connect with right people and everything gradually fell into place. Visiting the rural areas, connecting with the artisans and getting them make new designs have all been a slow and gradual process. Though not direct employees of Miharu, people working from my husband’s firm have always been a great support for me and helped me connect with local crafts person. Social media, my page and website helped me take my products to access of Indian and International customers. Everything was a learning process, and after each hurdle I came up stronger.
